Beware of first year hosting offers

You browse for a hosting plan, you find iPage offering unlimited everything with $42/year price tag. What you fail to notice is that this price is for the first year of hosting only. After that, the price goes up to $110 per year. In light of that case, you need to re-calculate your numbers before you go ahead with any hosting plan.

Having settled in with one hosting service provider, one gets too lazy to look for or even move to another host. Choose wisely, and look for what happens after your first year with the service. It's usually buried deep and/or written in small size font!
  • Better not to buy any hosting plan where your Domain Name is a hostage held at the hosting company.
  • Come up with your realistic disk space requirements before hunting for a host.
  • Some reputable hosting companies offer unlimited resources, however, your resources are not guaranteed. In the bid for everything, you can end up with nothing.
  • Unlimited hosting providers have restrictive TOS that it's not worth your time.
  • Eventually, any unlimited host will remove any subscriber who uses more resources then what paid for. They need to make a living and pay the rent.
